MAEJT Nigeria is more than just an organization; we are a movement led by the voices and experiences of working children and youth. As proud members of the African Movement of Working Children and Youth, our core mission is to empower those often marginalized and overlooked in society.

In Nigeria, 24.6 million children are engaged in work, with 14.3 million involved in hazardous conditions. These numbers represent not just statistics, but real children with dreams, aspirations, and the right to a safe and nurturing environment. Our commitment is to ensure that their rights are recognized and upheld.

Founded in 2008, MAEJT Nigeria has been on a relentless mission to address the urgent needs of children who work. We believe in the transformative power of education, safety, and community engagement. Our initiatives aim to ensure that every child can experience a childhood filled with learning, play, and growth, free from exploitation and harm. We envision a world where all African children are born into conditions that allow them to thrive. By promoting the active participation of children and youth in decision-making processes, we empower them to advocate for themselves and their peers, fostering a sense of agency and responsibility within their communities.
